Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Fellow Advocates,
It is with immense joy and a deep sense of purpose that I welcome you to the International Society for Mental Health Advocacy and Action (ISMHAA). ISMHAA has emerged from a shared dream , a dream of creating a world where mental health is not an afterthought but an essential pillar of human life; where compassion and science walk hand in hand.
In my years of working as a Psychologist and Educator, I have seen how mental health conversations can be restorative and transformative, depending on how responsibly they are held. We live in a time when emotions are surging, reactivity is high, yet human understanding, emotional regulation and capacity to connect compassionately with each other is often deficient. The need of the hour is to bring the essential knowledge and skills from action research in Psychology to everyone so that every individual can experience a rich, meaningful and purposeful life.
ISMHAA is committed to bring together people from all walks of life: mental health professionals, educators, policymakers, healthcare professionals, working professionals, researchers, community organizations, and individuals with lived experiences on the same platform so that they are not only included but involved in enhancing not only their own mental health but also spread this awareness and be an important voice for change.
To everyone reading this whether you are a student, a practitioner, a policymaker, or simply someone who believes that compassionate action can transform lives, you have a place here.
Your voice matters.
Your story counts.
And your presence can make a difference.
Let us work together to ensure that mental health is valued, protected, and promoted not as charity or crisis response, but as a fundamental right and a collective responsibility.
